They came !

Monday morning at about 10:30 we left for the airport. Stopping first at the store to get dippers (a much needed necessity when traveling with a two year old) then to the Erbers, who where going with us to the airport to take pictures. The Erbers finding out that our family had, had a nutritious feast of beef jerky, crackers, and coke for lunch, quickly whipped up some turkey salad sandwiches chips and water (defiantly more filling then our first lunch). When we got to O’Hare airport about 1:00 where we where met by The Other Strands, who had driven all the way there from West Bend Wi.
The kids plane landed at about 1:30, after the excitement of knowing that there plane had landed, we waited, and waited, and watched the female TSA guard (chuckle chuckle :) strut around in her big sunglasses, very loudly inform people of the things they needed to, and firmly, fervently, informing us that she did not want to be in our home videos and pictures.
And then we saw them our cute little kiddos! After many hugs, kisses, tears, and pictures we said good bye to Mrs.Anglin, and The Other Strands. We all climbed in the Erbers van and headed back to their house. When we got there we dropped them (Erbers) off and drove their van home, had a wonderful dinner of grilled chicken, bread, and sauerkraut (given to us by Aunt Lia) And then We all went to bed.
The kids seem to be very sweet we can't wait till you all can meet them.

Our Shower

A big thank you to everyone who came to our shower or sent gifts. I can't tell you how deeply it touched us. It is such a blessing that our Lord has given to us so many dear friends that care for us!

Our Church family has been such a support to us through this whole adoption process.
We would appreciate your continued prayers , as of right now there seems to be no end to the process in fact it seems to be at a stand still right now.

God Bess you all

UPDATE ON OUR ADOPTION

For those of you who do not know yet, we are not getting the twins. God in His sovereignty has decided that it would be best for them at this time to say where they are. But He has granted us three other children and not only that, but the adoption went through in about two weeks...Wow!! So these children are ours and they will be here in early October.

The pictures above were taken on the day they arrived at the orphanage and you can tell they are pretty scared.

Our little trip

This weekend (starting fri.) we will be taking a trip to northern Wisconsin, close to Lake Superior; where the H.Q. for Acres of Hope (our adoption agency) is located. We will be attending a picnic/fashion show/and action. It is all in the hopes to raise money for the orphanage which is currently being built over in Liberia.

Happy Birthday Lauren :-)

Matthew Thornton Strand

About two weeks ago I received a call at 6 am , it was Acres of Hope saying that our twins had a older brother who is 8 years old, and that we would have to decide whether to take all 3 children or start over.

Well needless to say we were a little shocked and unprepared for this curve ball that God has thrown us.

But God is so good he knows just what we need, and His plans are better than ours.
And to quote our Daughter Lauren " You know Mama this is providential stack-up" ( meaning- this was Gods plan all along and there is nothing you can do about it)

So after much prayer we have decided to step out in faith and take all three children.

And now that we have given our answer it seems that's things are starting to really move, we now have a projected date of Aug 20th 2006 when they should be arriving home.

And before we didn't seem to be getting any answers on when the children would be coming.

Praise God!! For all things are in His hands

Monday, June 12, 2006

We had such a wonderful time at church yesterday, When we arrived at the American Legion hall, it was unusable for various reasons, so we had to have church outside.

The Ortega family was so kind to open there home to us. It was so wonderful to worship the Lord together , with the birds singing in the background.

I know a lot of you have been asking if there is any updates on the twins yet, well the answer is still no new updates, Patty Anglin said about 2 more months so that would be around August. So I guess we get to work on patience some more.

Our first pictures of the twines
